(Life According to Katie. Who esle you going to trust?)

The magic is as wide as a smile and as narrow as a wink, loud as laughter and quiet as a tear, tall as a tale and deep as emotion. So strong, it can lift the spirit. So gentle, it can touch the heart. It is the magic that begins the happily ever after."
(Walt Disney...)

Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes and I am left the same. The more things change, the more I am the same. I am what I started with, and when it is all over I will be all that is left of me.
(Hugh Prather.)

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
(Mark Twain)

I am always doing things I can't do. That's how I get to do them

With the x's on my hands...

After a Tuesday at the Concer Lounge watching my friend's band, the x's on my hands still haven't faded away. That just makes me think, even when time passes and people move away, the things you did together stay w/ you... Just like the x's on my hands. So even through I really don't know where I will be in 10 years or really even 2... I know that the people that are in my life are going to be there forever, even if it is just in my memory.

45 reasons why life w/o a boyfriend ROCKS!!

Sure a visit to coupleland can be fun, but sometimes being one half of a pair  is not nearly as cool as flying solo...

1. Cause you can lock yourself in your room, blast your favorite music, scream to your heart's content and fully appreciate the  lyrics.

2. No carpooling boyfriend around cause you have wheels and he doesn't.

3. Going to the Joe's.

4. You can flirt w/ the guy next door, the boy in your poly sci class, and the manager at the coffee shop w/o feeling like you have to explain yourself.

5.You won't be known as so and so girlfriend.

6. Computer Solitaire.

7.You get to spend Tuesday nights with the boys of Miami Ink.

8.You'll catch fewer colds.

9.Sex and the City can take up your whole night.

10.You get to eat raw onions on your hamburger

11. You can go on a tirade about how lame your job is w/o being accused of PMS-ing.

12. Because the pursuit is the funnest part, anyway

13. Your journal will be filled w/ far more exciting things then the status of the relationship.

14. Shopping w/ the girls

15. School, homework, work, clubing, football games, parties, thift stores, who has time for a guy?

16.You get to play the field and your coupled up friends don't.

17.Firemen!!

18. There's more time to hit the gym

19. You never need to worry if your heels make you too tall.

20.You never suffer from stubble burn

21.Spring Break was made for single girls.

22. Friday nights w/ your best friends.

23. Jealousy, an all too typical by product of couplehood, is such a waste of energy.

24. You don't have to shave your legs if you don't want to.

25. Spending time unattached and liking it gives you the pwr to have high standards when it comes to guys.

26.Because studies have found that gum disease can be contagious.

27.You're more willing to try new things when you're single.

28. Because friends don't complain if you take forever getting ready to go out.

29. You can have a hip haircut.

30. You don't have to wait for or worry that you missed his call.

31. You have nothing to lose!

32. When you kiss another guy, it isn't called cheating!!

33. You get to control the remote.

34. You will feel like an independent stud-muffin.

35.Sometimes boys have smelly feet.

36. When you're attached you always wonder what you're missing

37. As you listen sympathetically to your friend's latest coupledom disater, you can be happy in the knowlege that you don't have to deal w/ that junk

38. Because you won't have to dump someone, or get dumped.

39. Life is stressful enough w/o some guy.

40. Because, let's face it, lust can be soo delicious.

41. One set of problems to deal with is plenty

42. More time to voluteer.

43. You'll have more bonding time with your sister, mom, or best friend.

44. Random road trips w/ the girls.

45.There's nothing more mysterious and alluring than a single woman who's into being that way.

Whats a luau without the cops?

Welcome to the "17 ways to get leid" luau at the mmk place. { Puts a lei around your neck and a cup of the drink of you choice in your hand.} Sit back and remember all things do get a little crazy sometimes. Heather, Melissa, and me never thought that our little luau would be as big as hit as it turned out to be. Everywhere you turned there was something exciting going on: Cops ( I don't think I knew people could move that fast.Even if he wasn't trying to break up the party just to get someone to move a car or two.); random people making out in the hallway, kitchen, living room, porch, bathroom... It was just funny; violence drunken neighbors that had to be thrown out... He got a second chases and I am all out of anymore;firemen( not putting any fires just doing some magic tricks and hanging.) I don't know what esle to say but that cocnut bras and grass skirts and a handful of friends always a good time.

Say it like you mean it...

The best is when you say the worst is over
It's like saying we had luck with a three leaf clover
And you kept saying that over and over
And I still catch you looking over your shoulder
And it's okay, I know the only times you really loved me
Were the times when you weren't sober
And that hurts
We all hurt
We all hurt
And I kept saying that

Katie Says, "Luau tonight!!!"

Welcome to Katie's....

Welcome back Knoxville... The city is like a little ghost town when college goes on break. Just the locals... Seems like a different place completly... I like it both ways, because I love my hometown... If you don't like Knoxville you just don't know it well enough... Take a look around and take it all in... You are sure to love it...

Classes are back in the swing now, and with my $400 dollars worth of books and some hardcore studying ahead, I am hoping to do pretty well this term, but I guess only time will tell... I just have to cut back on my partying, which I have to do anyways because I am packing on the weight and not in my wallet....

I have decided that friends are something really important, I mean I knew that but the fact is right now it is just us girls and in the end it will probably just be us girls... So we should value the time we have... Don't forget your friends when a new guy comes along, you will need them one day...

IKatie Banks, " I guess when you find someone you know it and everyone esle in your life seems to go to the sideline... That shouldn't happen.... Remember the sideliners have feelings too."

The monster in my closet.

I still to this day can't sleep with my closet door open. Remember when you were younger and how monsters lived under your bed, in the closet, in your sister's old smelly shoes?? Well, of course I know there aren't monster and what not but still to this very day, I can't sleep with the closet open. It freaks me out...

Yet alot of things freak me out. Commitment for one. And being alone. With relationships you really never know, if you are settling down, settling, or just refusing to settle for anything less. Than butterflies. I has think that I am the last one. I don't want to just be with anyone. ( Which has often been viewed as being scared of commitment.) But maybe I am just refusing to settle for anything less than butterflies...

Katie says, " I was thinking about all the different kind of relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exciting (firemen and Heather), those that are old and familiar ( Heather, JPark, Allison), those that bring up lots of questions ( Paul, Bill, Rhett), those that bring you somewhere unexpected (Bill, Scott), those that bring you far from where you started(Rhett), and those that bring you back( family). But the most exciting, challenging, and significant relationships of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.

You have to kiss a lot of frogs...

That is what people are always saying. I even just read a book that was titled that... So is it true? Do you have to kiss a bunch of frogs, aka the wrong guys, before you can truly find that one right guy, the prince in frog skins? The thing that is strange to me about that is that I have a friend who never kissed a single guy before she met her husband, he was her first love and her first kiss... So does this frog rule only apply to some of us ladies? Because believe me, I have kissed a lot of frogs... I am still kissing frogs actually...From the first frog I kiss ( who cheated on me with my best friend of the time.) to the one who doesn't want anyone to know that he even gave me a peck, let alone a makeout session in a stairway... And where are these frogs leading me??? To a prince that is hiding among the many frogs?? How tiring. One frog is every thing that you want and then they leap off into the sunrise kroaging at you for caring...For falling for their fake charm and promise of lies...

2005 is coming to an end... And what do I have to show for it?? So much.. A job, an apt, being in college, having friends that love me, a family, a great collectioin of shoes... And a lot of warts from all the frogs I have kissed this year.. But it will be a brand-new year in a matter of days. Who knows what will be in store? Life continues on with all its surprises. Its own little design.. Which is filled with frogs and princes and me...

Katie Banks says, " I like frogs sometimes, warts and all... They get you from one prince to another with some laughes and some pretty good kisses."

Stupid is as stupid does...

Class are over until January. That is the good thing. But I feel like I need to just not go back. I don't belong in college. I am to stupid for that. I study and study and it gets me no where... And I know my parents are going to be so upset. But I tried, really I did... I just don't know anymore..
